IBM REPLACES ACS AT NEW YORK'S METROPOLITAN TRANSIT AUTHORITY (MTA)

February 8 -- IBM will manage computer systems and offer disaster recovery services for New York City's vast metropolitan transportation system in a five-year, $65 million deal.The agreement with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the nation's biggest transport system, calls for IBM to manage computer processing for subways and buses, commuter rail and bus lines and New York's bridges and tunnels.

SEARS AND CSC TO BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SERVICES

March 11 -- Sears, Roebuck and Co. today announced that the company and Computer Sciences Corporation have agreed to enter into negotiations to provide Sears with state-of-the-art information technology infrastructure support services. ... COMPUTER SCIENCES GETS $36M PACT FROM U.S. NAVY

August 7 -- Computer Sciences Corp. signed a contract worth up to $36 million to support to the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in Charleston, S.C.
CSC
will help the naval center's Command and Control Systems Department evaluate its business operations and adopt appropriate practices. The company also plans to provide program and project management, financial management, information technology and administrative support.

IBM TEAM WINS CONTRACT TO MODERNIZE MEDICARE CLAIMS PROCESSING

February 5 -- In a major development aimed at significantly improving the accuracy, efficiency and user-friendliness of claims processing in federal health care programs, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) awarded the IBM team a contract for the redesign, replacement and maintenance of a core Medicare claims processing system component -- the Common Working File (CWF).

March 2 -- In a major step forward for the Department's Integrated Acquisition System (IAS), USDA officials announced that a team led by IBM has been chosen to provide the web-based e-procurement system at the heart of IAS. 

NIMA SELECTS CONTRACTORS TO MODERNIZE USIGS

October 11 -- The National Imagery and Mapping Agency selected two contractor teams led by General Dynamics Electronics Systems and Lockheed Martin Management and Data Systems to develop an approach to modernize the United States Imagery and Geospatial System (USIGS). The USIGS Enterprise is a total systems architecture designed to improve NIMA's ability to task, process, evaluate and disseminate information.

COMPUTER SCIENCES TEAM WINS NSA COMPUTER CONTRACT

July 31 -- The U.S. National Security Agency on Tuesday awarded a contract potentially worth in excess of $2 billion over 10 years to a team led by Computer Sciences Corp. for upgrade of its non-spying computers and communications equipment. ... 
The deal is one of the biggest handoffs yet to a private contractor of work previously done in-house by U.S. government employees. The CSC team will hire on at least 750 NSA employees to perform some of the work.
Members of the CSC team includes Logicon, a division of Northrop Grumman Corp.; General Dynamics Corp.; Keane Federal Systems Inc. and Omen Inc.

April 27 -- The U.S. Customs agency has picked IBM to lead a $1.3 billion project to streamline the organization's commercial processing systems.

EDS WINS $271 MILLION BANK OF CANADA CONTRACT

EDS Canada Continues to Advance Into Canadian Services Market With Government Of Canada Business Process Outsourcing Contract

June 29 -- Under a contract announced Wednesday by the Bank of Canada, EDS  has agreed to provide all business operations supporting the sale, customer service and redemption of savings bonds issued by the Government of Canada. The 9.5-year, US$271 million contract takes effect on September 1, 2001. …
About 500 Bank of Canada staff will join EDS Canada as part of the outsourcing agreement. Retail debt program operations will transfer to EDS Canada's expanded office facilities in Ottawa.

STATE DEPT. SETS INFO-SHARING PACE

November 19 -- A State Department project to streamline information sharing among federal agencies in overseas embassies and consulates is being touted as a model for improving interagency collaboration here in the United States as well. The project, which could be worth up to $400 million, has gained extra momentum ... DISA Awards Largest Small Business Set-aside Contract to Three Vendors

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, February 16--The Defense Information Systems Agency, has awarded the largest small business set-aside contract in the history of the Federal Government to three small businesses.

Artel, Inc. of Reston, VA, a small disadvantaged business; Spacelink International LLC of Dulles,VA, a small business; and Arrowhead Space and Telecommunications, Inc. of Falls Church, VA, a woman-owned small disadvantaged business, are being awarded indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts for the Defense Information System Network (DISN) Satellite Transmission Services - Global (DSTS-G). The maximum cumulative face value for all three contracts is anticipated to be $2.196 billion over the life of the contracts if all options are exercised.

Weyerhaeuser Signs Seven-Year IT Contract with EDS 
Relationship Positions Weyerhaeuser for Future Growth with Streamlined IT Infrastructure 

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. & PLANO, Texas --Dec. 20--Weyerhaeuser Company, one of the world's largest integrated forest products companies, and EDS today announced a seven-year information technology outsourcing contract to provide Weyerhaeuser information technology (IT) infrastructure services.

EDS will assume a range of responsibilities, including network, desktop, server and mainframe management, and helpdesk services. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

CSC WINS $352 MILLION AIR FORCE AIR EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND CONTRACT


FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug. 22 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been conditionally awarded a contract by the Air Force Air Education and Training Command to provide base operations support at Lackland Air Force Base, located near San Antonio, Texas.

The cost-plus-incentive-fee contract has a value of $352 million if all options are exercised over a five-year period.

Connecticut Selects EDS To Lead Modernization Of IT Operations In Landmark Computer Outsourcing Initiative

HARTFORD, Connecticut - EDS reported today that it has been named the top-ranked of four proposers to the State of Connecticut's Department of Information Technology (DOIT) to manage the state's information technology (IT), including desktop and mainframe operations, telecommunications, applications development and systems integration services. CSC WINS $68 MILLION FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION CONTRACT

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 4 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded a contract by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to design, develop, integrate and test designated components of the FAA’s future Controller Pilot Data Communications Link (CPDLC) system, nationwide. The award is initially worth an estimated $18 million, and has a total value of $68 million if all options are exercised.

CSC WINS $11 MILLION U.S. NAVY CONTRACT TO SUPPORT SPACE, NAVAL WARFARE CENTER IN SAN DIEGO

Falls Church, Va., Aug. 13 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded a contract by the Department of the Navy to provide a wide range of environmental support at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR), San Diego, Calif. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is valued at $10.9 million over a five-year period of performance.

CSC will provide research, development, test and evaluation services in biological science, chemistry, biochemistry, environmental biotechnology, physics, marine sciences, environmental engineering, advanced sensor development and radiation physics for ocean surveillance. The company will integrate marine and environmental research with the technology of Web-enabled scientific databases in areas emphasizing marine environmental quality assessment and remediation.

CSC TO PROVIDE IT SERVICES TO INS UNDER PERFORMANCE CONTRACT PROGRAM

Falls Church, Va., June 30 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) has been selected one of three vendors to develop and maintain information technology systems in support of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. The three contracts will support the INS Service Technology Alliance Resources (STARS) Program and are valued at up to $750 million over five years. CSC WINS FIRST TASK ORDER AWARDED UNDER INS STARS PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

Falls Church, Va., April 14 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded the first competitive task order by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) under its Service Technology Alliance Resources (STARS) Program. The task order is valued at $8 million during a one-year term.

CSC will support a systems modernization effort to improve integration and accessibility of the INS' Enforcement Systems Program, which is primarily responsible for the safety of INS agents around the world.

CSC WINS SECOND STARS TASK ORDER TO SUPPORT INS I/T TRAINING PROGRAMS

Falls Church, Va., July 15 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) has won its second competitive task order awarded under the Service Technology Alliance Resources (STARS) program of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). The work is valued at $6.4 million over one year.

Under the new task order, CSC will support the INS Information Technology Center in developing and delivering I/T training in a computer-based environment. CSC will create more cost-effective training delivery methods and improve teaching and testing facilities for INS mission systems prior to deployment. The contract also calls for CSC to provide specialized technical training to enable I/T support professionals to operate and maintain INS networks and systems.

CSC WINS $28 MILLION NAVAL CONTRACT TO SUPPORT VERTICAL LAUNCHING SYSTEMS

Falls Church, Va., June 4 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded a contract by the Department of the Navy to provide engineering support for the Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) and future VLS evolutions at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Va.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is valued at $27.8 million over a five-year period of performance.

CSC CONTINUES TO SUPPORT AEGIS COMBAT SYSTEM WITH $127.3 MILLION CONTRACT WIN AT DAHLGREN DIVISION, VA.

Falls Church, Va., June 3 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded a contract by the Naval Surface Warfare Systems, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) to provide engineering and technical support for the maintenance and development of AEGIS tactical computer programs at Dahlgren, Va.

The contract is valued at $3.8 million during a two-month base period and at a total of $127.3 million if all options are exercised during a five-year period of performance.

CSC ONE OF 10 COMPANIES SELECTED FOR $25 BILLION GSA ANSWER CONTRACT

Falls Church, Va., Jan. 5 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) has been selected one of 10 companies to provide information technology services and support under the Federal Technology Service, Federal Information Systems Support program of the General Services Administration (GSA).

The multiple award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity Applications `n Support for Widely-diverse EndUser Requirements (ANSWER) contract contains a two-year base period of performance and eight one-year options and has a not-to-exceed contract value of $25 billion. CSC estimates it will generate $250 million in revenues over the 10 year contract period.

CSC RECEIVES ITS FIRST TASK ORDER AWARDED BY DOT'S ITOP CONTRACT

Falls Church, VA, Oct. 28 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) has received its first competitively issued task order under the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) streamlined Information Technology Omnibus Procurement (ITOP) contract.
